Our Story

Named for the leaf we grow

"Vaalai" is the Tamil word for the banana plant — and the leaf is everything we do. Valaileaf is a growers' house with plantations across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala, run by farming families who have raised banana for generations.

We chose to export the leaf itself: fresh, fragrant and food-safe banana leaves for restaurants, caterers, temples and leaf-plate makers around the world. Because we grow what we sell, every leaf is traceable from our own soil to your kitchen.

The Leaf Facility

One facility. One crop.

Our packing facility does exactly one thing: cut and pack banana leaves. Nothing else passes through it, so every surface, table and carton stays dedicated to the leaf — clean, food-grade and export-ready.

    Harvest

    Leaves are cut at dawn on our own plantations and reach the facility within hours.

    Cut & grade

    Each leaf is trimmed to size and graded for colour, width and midrib strength.

    Clean

    Leaves are wiped and inspected leaf by leaf in a hygienic, food-grade environment.

  4. 4

    Pack

    Bundles are folded, sleeved and sealed into export cartons the same day they are cut.

  5. 5

    Ship

    Reefer-packed cartons leave for retailers, restaurants and distributors worldwide.
